This internship will start mid/late August and continue through at least Spring 2025 semester.

We call this our GREEN IMPACT Plan. To further strengthen our GREEN IMPACT Plan here in North America we are seeking a skilled intern to join our team.

As an Environmental Affairs Intern, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our carbon neutrality goals through data accuracy and reporting. Your primary objective will be to collect, analyze, and report out on our Scope 1 and 2 emissions data from our North American facilities.

This role will allow you to combine your passion for electronics or buildings with climate change and the environment by using your analytical capabilities to support the data analysis and insight generation across our energy consumption and waste generation in North America. A key responsibility will be to support the development of our annual global greenhouse gas, GHG, footprint by leading the data collection, analysis, and reporting of Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

The expectation is to grow into an expert in Net Zero and Sustainable Operations in the context of real estate, facilities management, and facility operations.

What You'll Get To Do:

Data Collection

  • Assist with the annual data collection of our North American GHG footprint. We measure our GHG footprint in accordance with GHG Protocol standards and report in a proprietary system

  • Track progress of GHG data collection, manage the project timeline, and ensure data quality

Data Analysis

  • Manage, analyze, and communicate key environmental metrics from our North American Footprint

Reporting

  • Create visuals to help communicate environmental metrics and findings. Will likely use Excel or other software like Tableau

  • Link findings from analysis to actionable insights for Panasonic GREEN IMPACT plan

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop proactive solutions to environmental challenges

  • Support with ad hoc product assignments as needed

What You'll Bring:

  • Currently pursuing a BA, BS, MA, or MS degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field or in Data Analysis with a passion or sustainability

  • Experience with greenhouse gas footprinting and the GHG Protocol preferred

  • Skilled in Excel, Smart Sheet, Power BI or equivalent data analysis tool

  • Foundational understanding of Scope 1 and 2 Carbon Emissions and the WRI GHG Protocol

  • Ability to compile, sort and analyze large amounts of data.

  • Ability to be able to understand data and make conclusion or produce reports on the data

  • Ability to collaborate with and across multiple internal and external entities and teams and skill sets

Hourly Range: $17.00 - $38.00
